Business Wire, August 15, 2006
ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA(R)) today announced that U.S. Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA) will deliver the opening keynote address at EHX Fall 2006. Produced by EH Events and sponsored by the CEA TechHome Division, EHX Fall 2006 runs November 14-17, in Long Beach, Calif. EHX was named by Tradeshow Week as the fastest growing custom electronics trade event, serving the $13 billion custom electronics industry, with the fall show expected to generate record-breaking attendance numbers.
Representative Issa's address is slated for Wednesday, November 15, 2006, from 9-10 a.m. at the Long Beach Convention Center. During the keynote, he will share his views on energy conservation, current political trends affecting U.S. businesses and the necessary steps in building a successful technology company.
Representative Issa has an extensive history of leadership within the consumer electronics industry. Issa is a former Chairman of CEA and founder of Directed Electronics, a leading manufacturer of automobile security and convenience products.
"What a powerful way to kick off EHX Fall 2006, with an opening keynote from one of the industry's biggest supporters," said CEA President and CEO, Gary Shapiro. "Congressman Issa has served as an incredible advocate and visionary for the entire custom electronics industry through his work on the Hill and as founder of one of the leading consumer electronics manufacturers. We look forward to hearing his insight regarding industry opportunities on the horizon and current political trends affecting today's marketplace."
Representing California's 49th district, Congressman Issa also serves on the House Government Reform Committee, where he is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Resources, and is a member of the House International Relations Committee and House Judiciary Committee. Additionally, Representative Issa is well-known as the leader of the successful effort to recall former California Governor Gray Davis in 2003.
More than 10,000 industry professionals are expected at EHX Fall 2006, with more than 350 companies showcasing the hottest products in the custom electronics industry - including media servers, home networking, home automation, structured wiring, multi-room audio, IP networking and security.
