Cisco, Avaya and Mitel to Deliver Keynote Addresses at IPComm 2006: Conference for Businesses Implementing New IP Telephony Technology
Business Wire, August 21, 2006
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Top executives from three leading telephone system manufacturers will share their latest advances in communications technology at IPComm 2006, a national conference in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 25-27.
Keynote presenters Vickie McGovern of Cisco Systems, Geoffrey Baird of Avaya and Simon Gwatkin of Mitel are expected to discuss how their developments in Internet protocol (IP) telephony and unified communications are transforming the way businesses, schools and health care institutions operate.
Attendees also will hear new communications technology implementation case studies from Black & Decker, The Smithsonian Institution, the Province of British Columbia and OARnet, an Internet service provider that recently linked several Ohio colleges and universities in a high-speed fiber-optic network. Each case study explores how these organizations transformed their local and wide area networks as well as their staffing processes to move from traditional TDM-based services to converged IP telephony for voice, video and data applications.
During IPComm 2006's three-day program, attendees will participate in five plenary sessions and 21 specialty sessions with a focus on the three challenges enterprise communications managers face with IP: planning and purchasing, performance and management and applications development. Security, network reliability and performance, cutting edge applications, Quality of Service (QoS), business planning, IP contact centers, SIP, VoWLAN and more will be covered in the program. IPComm 2006 also includes two pre-conference workshops on IP telephony fundamentals and IP security, an exhibit showcase, one-on-one expert consultations and a unique and highly interactive "Ask the Experts" networking opportunity.
Organized by CCMI - the Center for Communications Management Information - and The Voice Report newsletter, IPComm 2006 is the premier educational event for communications technology professionals. Gold sponsors include Microsoft, which recently has signed partnership agreements with major phone system manufacturers to jointly develop new unified communications products.
