Contact Solutions Inc. Deploys Tekelec 7000 Class 5 Packet Switch to Support IVR Applications
Business Wire, August 29, 2006
MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), a leading developer of high-performance network applications for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks, today announced Contact Solutions Inc. has deployed two Tekelec 7000 Class 5 Packet Switches to support its advanced interactive voice response (IVR) applications.
Contact Solutions Inc., an IVR outsource wholesaler, provides automated customer service solutions to clients in the telecommunications, government, service and transportation industries. The Tekelec 7000 softswitch provides increased growth expansion potential, lower footprint and power requirements, and future voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) networking capabilities to boost the operator's IVR business operations.
"Tekelec enables us to flexibly expand our IVR services and applications with carrier-grade reliability and support future VoIP traffic while leveraging our existing network investments," said Paul Logan, Contact Solutions' president and CEO. "The Tekelec 7000 offers the features we need to provide highly reliable, scalable and cost-effective automated service solutions to our customers."
The Tekelec 7000 is a feature-rich softswitch that delivers enhanced VoIP services for independent operating carriers (IOCs), cable operators and other mid-size carriers that fully integrates both IP and time division multiplexing (TDM) interfaces. This flexibility allows operators to gain new revenues from both VoIP and TDM subscribers and to easily add VoIP transport while reducing operational costs.
"We are continually exploring broader market applications for the Tekelec 7000, such as enabling IVR service providers like Contact Solutions to offer reliable, automated customer service solutions," said Eric Pratt, general manager of the Tekelec 7000 in the company's Switching Solutions Group. "Our next-generation softswitch protects operators' investments by supporting VoIP and TDM subscriber traffic without requiring costly overhauls to their existing networks."
