Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange Introduces Project Management and Advanced Reporting for Lotus Notes to Exchange Server Migration

Business Wire, August 29, 2006

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- Quest Maintains Leadership Position in Notes to Exchange Server Migration with More Than One Million Mailboxes Migrated to Date

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT) has had years of experience helping organizations migrate onto the Microsoft platform, and continues to lead the way in Notes to Exchange Server migrations with more than one million mailboxes migrated to date using Quest Notes Migrator(TM) for Exchange. With its new version 4.0, Quest is the first vendor to provide project management, task scheduling and advanced reporting using the new Quest MessageStats(TM) Report Pack for Lotus Notes migration.

"We are proud to be the first in the market to offer these important capabilities to organizations who want to move from Lotus Notes to Exchange Server 2000 or 2003," said Steve Dickson, vice president, Windows management, Quest Software. "With our well-established migration and systems management expertise, we will not only help customers migrate to but also manage their Exchange Server environments."

Capabilities that are the first in the market for Lotus Notes to Exchange Server migration include:

--Project Management - A single console provides administrators a high-level project view, showing at a glance real-time migration status, as well as each step of the migration process, alerting IT of any errors.

--Task Scheduling - Administrators can choose to schedule components of the migration project to occur at any time, decreasing the project's impact to the organization and users.

In addition to project management and task scheduling, pre-migration planning is easier when using the new Quest MessageStats Report Pack for Lotus Notes Migration. The administrator can generate reports that provide an inventory of an organization's Notes environment. Reports can also be generated during the migration on which users have been migrated and which Notes data stores have been moved.

"More and more organizations are moving from Lotus Notes to Exchange Server for their messaging and collaboration needs," said Donna Conner, group product manager of Exchange Server marketing at Microsoft Corp. "Quest's Notes Migrator for Exchange will help with this process by providing a seamless transition so that customers can quickly take advantage of Exchange Server's innovative functionality."

Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange also continues to offer valuable capabilities including:

--Migration of all e-mail, calendar data, archives and personal address books

--Migration of data without the need for end user intervention

--Simplified administration through automating the creation of Exchange Server mailboxes, setting of quotas and appropriate mail routing

--Parallel migration by moving multiple users' data simultaneously to achieve higher performance
