BOSTON -- Cordys, a provider of industry-leading SOA solutions, today announced that ABN AMRO Insurance, a joint venture between the Delta Lloyd Group and ABN AMRO, has selected Cordys as its core integration and IT development platform.
Led by Cordys partner, Capgemini, the implementation of Cordys will simplify existing systems and business processes, while providing ABN AMRO Insurance with a technology platform that improves its ability to respond to regulatory demands and changing business needs.
Founded in 2003, ABN AMRO Insurance is a joint venture between the Delta Lloyd Group and ABN AMRO, and brings together the extensive distribution network of ABN AMRO, with the insurance expertise of the Delta Lloyd Group.
The implementation of Cordys will provide ABN AMRO Insurance with an agile and flexible SOA platform that enables IT to better support the needs of the business. The initial focus will be on integration, with the coupling of existing applications, systems and networks to improve business efficiency, without compromising the existing infrastructure.
According to Rob van de Star, Vice President Capgemini, the Cordys platform is ideally suited to the Financial Services sector. "Mergers and acquisitions, ever changing rules and regulations and increasing competition require Financial Service providers to be increasingly agile and flexible in response to changes in their business environment. By using the Cordys platform, companies can integrate existing applications and systems, without having to make drastic changes to the existing infrastructure. This reduces risk and makes companies more flexible and agile."
"Speed of implementation and platform flexibility are key considerations," according to Gilbert Pluym, Chief Financial Officer at ABN AMRO Insurance. "ABN AMRO Insurance needs to be able to quickly adapt to the changing demands of consumer and business customers, as well as to the ever changing market conditions, rules and regulations."
"Cordys will enable ABN AMRO Insurance to build an IT infrastructure that will stand the test of time. The platform uses web-services technology to make the most of previous IT investment by supporting the re-use of existing functionality, and creating an environment in which new functionality can be added as needed on an ongoing basis," said Michiel Oldenhof, Vice President, Cordys Europe. "We are excited that ABN AMRO Insurance has chosen the combination of Cordys technology innovation and Capgemini's business and IT expertise to meet the long term needs of the business."
