Deutsche Bank Americas CEO Seth Waugh Congratulates Tiger Woods and the Tiger Woods Foundation on 10 Years of Success
Business Wire, August 31, 2006
NORTON, Mass. -- Seth Waugh (l.), Deutsche Bank Americas CEO (NYSE: DB), presented the world's number one ranked golfer, Tiger Woods, with a bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate the success of both his 10-year PGA Tour career and 10 years of the Tiger Woods Foundation. Woods and Waugh were paired together on Thursday in the Deutsche Bank Championship Pro-Am tournament at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Mass.
Woods' tenth anniversary as a PGA Tour pro occurred this past Sunday, August 27, and he marked the occasion with his 52nd career and fourth straight PGA TOUR win at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Woods has won 12 major championships and 70 total tournaments worldwide.
The Tiger Woods Foundation, the primary charity beneficiary of the Deutsche Bank Championship, was started in 1996 by Woods and his late father Earl Woods. The Foundation estimates that in one decade it has reached 10 million young people worldwide through various programs including the Tiger Woods Learning Center, the Start Something character development program, the TWF Programmatic Grants and the TWF Youth Clinics.
In three years, the Deutsche Bank Championship, a staple on the Labor Day Weekend calendar in New England, has raised more than $4.5 million for charity. Championship week began on Tuesday, August 29, with Championship rounds beginning Friday, September 1 and running through Monday, September 4, the only scheduled Monday finish on the PGA TOUR.
