Let Your Users Do the Talking, Says PixelMEDIA; Web Content Management Leader Entrusts PixelMEDIA with Bringing Thought Leadership to Life
Business Wire, August 8, 2006
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- A picture's worth a thousand words, right? Interactive videos have something to say about that, suggests PixelMEDIA. The professional services consultancy recently helped fellow New Hampshire-based Ektron showcase its web content management system and CEO's viewpoints in an engaging presentation, available on the company's website, www.ektron.com, and at tradeshows. The five-minute Flash(R)-based video couples powerful words with full-motion video and imagery to demonstrate who a website content management application can impact and position Ektron's CEO as a thought leader.
Thought leadership as a means to sell product? Through a collaborative process, PixelMEDIA and Ektron came to the conclusion that product alone doesn't sell product--people sell product. They honed how Ektron would pitch its CMS400.NET by focusing on users' perspectives, rather than solely on the application itself. The resulting script balanced testimonial-style comments with thought leadership straight from Bill Rogers, Ektron's Founder and CEO. Vignettes showcase individual users in their "native environments." Viewers see how the web content management system makes a difference to marketing, HR, IT, and others as they manage websites, intranets, and related documents and media.
"PixelMEDIA produced an engaging, interactive vehicle for us to project Bill's enthusiasm for the possibilities of the web and allowed him to show potential customers all the things they can do with their sites," says David Aponovich, Ektron's Director of Marketing. "We knew Bill's vision, coupled with customer testimony, would be more compelling and make the practical application of CMS400.NET more real. PixelMEDIA's talent for envisioning the video and executing its production gave Ektron an attention-getting thought leadership presentation that differentiates the company and its products."
On the visual front, PixelMEDIA upgraded from the traditional "screenshot slideshow" to incorporate location scouting, greenscreening, and videography. They brought everything together in their in-house multimedia shooting studio, designed to support the kind of end-products clients increasingly demand.
"We're hearing more and more clients seek out new ways to position themselves and promote their industry leadership," says PixelMEDIA COO and Co-founder Thomas Obrey. "In the midst of a tradeshow or in the clutter of the web, our clients need to differentiate themselves. PixelMEDIA answers their call with custom photography, live action video, script development, and on-camera and voiceover coaching."
The Ektron piece is designed for multi-mode use. It automatically senses bandwidth and drive speed to launch in a manner ideal for the viewer's environment--whether that's online, on a laptop, or on a tradeshow floor. Just as the final presentation focuses on the user's perspective, so too does it automatically optimize for the viewer's context.
