Imaging Sciences Bundles GRISOFT AVG With i-CAT 3-D Dental Scanning System to Provide Antivirus Protection; Dental Staff Capture, View and E-Mail Large File Size Images From Advanced Imaging Technology Solution Without Draining System Resources
Business Wire, August 8, 2006
MILLBURN, N.J. -- GRISOFT today announced that Imaging Sciences International Inc., a global leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced dental and maxillofacial radiography products, will be bundling GRISOFT's AVG Anti-Virus software with its i-CAT(TM) advanced 3-D imaging technology devices.
Every Imaging Sciences i-CAT Cone Beam 3-D Dental Imaging System includes the scanning device that provides complete views of all oral and maxillofacial structures, plus a Windows XP computer for viewing, saving and e-mailing patient's dental images. After looking at a number of alternatives, Imaging Sciences determined that AVG Anti-Virus will be pre-installed when systems are purchased and shipped to dental facilities.
The images captured by the i-CAT system can be as large as 40 MB. Therefore, any installed software needs to use the absolute minimum amount of system resources or else it will adversely affect the performance of the system. GRISOFT's AVG Anti-Virus software continues to be the only software program on the market today that provides all the antivirus protection without draining resources.
"I use AVG at home and have been very happy with its performance and ability to do its job without draining systems resources," said Mike Bowen, IT Manager for Imaging Sciences. "As the person responsible for providing technical support for our systems, I know the importance of expediting our customer's daily workload and delivering the best experience to them. Dental staff and oral surgeons cannot afford any delays or time wasted due to the antivirus software."
"Today, many businesses rely on sending and opening large files. This poses a challenge to maintain antivirus protection without noticeably slowing performance," said Larry Bridwell, Vice President of Communications for GRISOFT. "Imaging Sciences not only realizes the importance of providing antivirus protection but also making sure that their overall solution safely meets all of their customer's needs."
