BridgeCo Digital Media Players Expand Content Options in the Home; Users Can Now Play Audio From Yahoo, Rhapsody, Napster, iTunes® and Other Providers Throughout the Digital Home

Business Wire, August 9, 2006

LOS ANGELES -- BridgeCo Inc. (www.bridgeco.com), a leading provider of entertainment networking technology, announced that it has upgraded its innovative Digital Media Player (DMP) platform so that users can now play audio from any content provider on their living room stereo systems and other DMP-connected audio devices. Consumers that use their computers to subscribe to online music services like Yahoo, Rhapsody, Napster, LaunchCast and MusicChoice, or users that have music downloads from iTunes or other online music stores stored on their computers, can now transmit their tunes for playback on any stereo system that uses embedded or external BridgeCo DMP technology.

"BridgeCo DMPs can securely play content from any audio source that can be played on a computer, including both free and premium services and downloads," said BridgeCo CEO Gene Sheridan. "While competing technologies limit playback options to specific file formats or music services, BridgeCo allows the consumer to choose their music downloads or streams from any source that they can access with their computer. No other DMP platform supports more content sources than BridgeCo."

BridgeCo's DMP technology connects audio systems to wired or wireless home networks using the popular WiFi(R)/802.11, HomePlug(TM), USB or Ethernet network standards. DMP-connected audio systems can access content files stored on a computer in any file format, including MP3, WMA or AAC, which is the file format used by iTunes and other content services. DMP-connected audio systems can also access streaming audio services and radio stations directly from the Internet.

BridgeCo's comprehensive middleware and processor IC technology is being used by consumer electronics companies to produce stand-alone networked audio products, after-market audio adapters that connect legacy audio systems to home networks, and embedded network modules that enable new AVRs and other audio equipment to be shipped 'network-ready.'
