Spotfire Wins Business Intelligence Network Data Visualization Competition
Business Wire, August 9, 2006
SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Industry Expert Touts Spotfire DXP as an "Exceptional Tool for Visual Analysis"
Spotfire, Inc., a leading provider of analytics software, today announced it has won the first of a five-part series in Business Intelligence Network's 2006 Data Visualization Competition. The contest - judged by Stephen Few, principal of Perceptual Edge - tasked participants to visually represent various business data sets to help easily and quickly solve real-world business problems.
The scenario of the contest required competitors to develop a visualization that would enable a budget manager to examine expense performance across 12 departments in order to reveal trends and performance problems. Few noted that Spotfire's solution, developed in the recently released Spotfire DXP analytics product, made it easy to compare performance across departments as well as drill down within specific units.
