PRWeek Event Will Reveal the Wall Street Journal's New Design To PR Industry
Business Wire, Dec 1, 2006
NEW YORK -- PRWeek is hosting a lunch event on December 4th, to introduce the new design of The Wall Street Journal to PR and communications professionals.
The Journal will unveil a new design publicly on January 2, 2007. The PRWeek event will feature panel discussion by the Journal's top editors, discussing the changes that are coming to the publication and specifically what it means for PR professionals in their roles.
Speakers will include Marcus Brauchli, deputy managing editor, Edward Felsenthal, deputy managing editor, Laurie Hays, national news editor and Bill Grueskin, managing editor of The Wall Street Journal Online. Paul Steiger, managing editor, will also offer remarks at the beginning of the session. The discussion will be moderated by Julia Hood, editor-in-chief of PRWeek.
The goal is to create a unique environment for learning about the direction and focus of the new Journal, specific to the needs and interest of in-house and agency communicators. The panel will include a lengthy question-and-answer period.
"PR professionals play a vital role helping global companies tell their stories and identifying trends for the business media," said Julia Hood, PRWeek's editor-in-chief. "In participating in this exclusive event, The Wall Street Journal recognizes the importance of explaining the coming changes to the PR community, as a key stakeholder."
"A cornerstone of the Journal will be an increased focus on interpretation, insight and ideas -- more of what the news means, not just what happened," said Ann Marks, chief marketing officer for Dow Jones & Company. "We've teamed with PR Week to educate the public relations community about the Journal and to better assist communications counselors on how to advise clients and pitch our reporters."
