NimBUS' End-to-End Monitoring Solution Helps Novell's Managed Services Unit Meet Service Level Guarantees for Customers Worldwide
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- Nimsoft today announced that Novell, a worldwide provider of open standards-based software, has selected its NimBUS Service Level Management (SLM) solution to provide advanced and proactive service level monitoring for Novell's managed services offering. The NimBUS end-to-end solution plays a pivotal role in ensuring Novell's customers worldwide experience stable, efficient IT infrastructure performance.
Novell's IT Services Division provides outsourced services to customers worldwide, helping them manage their heterogeneous computing platforms, including Unix, SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell, Novell NetWare and Windows. Novell offers their customers 24/7 up time, which requires unwavering attention to monitoring and management.
"We understood at the outset that effective service level monitoring was very important for a successful managed service," said Mike Lyons, vice president of global services of Novell. "We did extensive vetting of various options, including side-by-side testing of "real world" scenarios in our SuperLabs facility. We chose the NimBUS product based on its strong performance and features, such as real-time service level monitoring and customized dashboards. In addition, the ease of incorporating NimBUS into our managed service offering was another strong factor in our decision."
"Managing today's enterprise is often highly complex, which requires sophisticated management tools to achieve the highest levels of IT service," said Debra Curtis, research vice president, Gartner. "In-depth service level agreement reporting, the ability to monitor across heterogeneous infrastructures, resiliency in high availability environments, and customized views for differentiated service classes or customers are attributes that are needed to address the SLA monitoring and reporting requirements of both large enterprises and service providers."
NimBUS is a service level management solution completely developed in-house which provides scaleable, resilient and reliable monitoring capabilities for organizations that wish to proactively manage critical IT resources against service level requirements. These resources include, but are not limited to, servers, hosts, applications, databases, networking services and network devices.
"We are extremely pleased that Novell has selected NimBUS as the solution of choice to remotely monitor and manage their customers' environments," said Gary Read, president and CEO of Nimsoft. "NimBUS' ability to provide reliability and stability in demanding 24/7 environments delivers a much-needed agility for IT executives, who want to reduce ongoing management costs while increasing the business value of their IT infrastructure."
