Biscomerica to Improve Production, Support Company Growth and Address Food Safety Issues with SAP Fourth Shift Edition Food & Beverage
LAKE FOREST, Calif. -- 5th Gear Solutions today announced that Biscomerica, who manufactures branded and private-label cookie and candy for grocery, drug, mass merchandisers, clubs, convenience, vending, fund raising, food service and wholesale distribution has chosen SAP Fourth Shift Edition enterprise software solution. The company selected SAP Fourth Shift Edition to improve its manufacturing processes, support overall growth and comply with food safety, hygienic and environmental regulations specifically Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
Biscomerica was founded in 1980 with the vision of providing top quality cookies and candy at a competitive price. Biscomerica is headquartered in Rialto, California, in a 225,000 square foot state of the art bakery facility dedicated to fulfilling this company vision. Biscomerica's baking facility is OUD Kosher certified and is rated "Superior" with the prestigious American Institute of Baking (AIB). The modernized building separates production lines into candy and cookies and is designed to adhere to food safety compliance regulations.
"To maintain our competitive advantage, we needed an integrated business system to ensure our organization wide processes were working at optimal levels," said Michael Henry for Biscomerica. "SAP Fourth Shift Edition provided just this, as well as integration to all the familiar Microsoft desktop tools we use daily such as Excel, Word and Outlook." Standardizing on SAP Fourth Shift allows Biscomerica to integrate production, distribution, sales, customer service and financial processes. It also provides an operational system of record that will support bi-directional lot tracing and accurate product labeling.
"Food and beverage companies around the world are turning to SAP Fourth Shift Edition to address similar industry-specific issues including perfect order performance, product labeling, traceability and other food safety requirements," said Richard Dettinger, North American Channel Manager for SoftBrands. "Our proven enterprise business solutions help companies like Biscomerica to support continued company growth while maintaining a critical eye toward industry and government regulations."
