CA OEMs PingFederate From Ping Identity to Ease Onboarding of Identity Federation Partners
Business Wire, Dec 4, 2006
PingFederate Technology Provides Partner-Enabling End Point to Expand Identity Federation Capabilities in eTrust SiteMinder
DENVER -- Ping Identity Corporation announced today that it has signed a strategic OEM partnership agreement with CA, Inc. (NYSE:CA), makers of the eTrust SiteMinder Web access management product. Under the terms of the agreement, Ping Identity has licensed its PingFederate technology to CA, enabling eTrust SiteMinder customers to ease the onboarding of federation partners.
Over the past 12 months, the market for federated identity management has accelerated dramatically as large enterprises have begun to extend their security architectures to incorporate their business process outsourcers, hosted application providers and trading partners. However, prospective identity federation partners often do not have the security software infrastructure or expertise necessary to implement identity federation and federated single sign-on.
eTrust SiteMinder offers customers a broad range of options to quickly and easily establish a secure, standards-based connection with federation partners. By leveraging PingFederate technology, eTrust SiteMinder is providing its customers with another option to easily enable these identity federation partnerships.
"Enterprises are using identity federation to implement their extended enterprise security strategy as it is the only standards-based approach that can scale to accommodate the hundreds of trading partners most firms interact with," said Andre Durand, Ping Identity CEO. "Our federation technology, when used with eTrust SiteMinder federation capabilities, provides a comprehensive solution which can be used to enable both sides of an identity federation partnership."
"To further accelerate identity federation as a core business enabler, it's essential that interconnecting with partners is as easy as possible," said Bilhar Mann, senior vice president of Identity and Access Management at CA. "Leveraging the robust and flexible identity federation features as part of CA's broad identity and access management solution, customers are able to easily, securely and cost effectively accommodate a growing number of identity federation partners."
