Olevia LCD TV Sales Strong on Increased Brand Awareness and Robust Black Friday Performance
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Syntax-Brillian Corporation (Nasdaq:BRLC), one of the world's fastest growing marketers of LCD and LCoS[TM] TVs and digital entertainment products, announced today that it has raised revenue guidance for the company's fiscal 2007 second quarter ending December 31, 2006.
"On November 2, 2006, we provided revenue guidance of $178 million to $190 million, including the operations of Vivitar, for the quarter ending December 31, 2006," said Wayne Pratt, Syntax-Brillian's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. "Although the quarter has not yet ended, early indications of retail sell-through over the Thanksgiving weekend lead us to believe that revenue for the quarter will be at or above the high end of that range," he continued.
Hope Frank, Syntax-Brillian's Chief Marketing Officer, said, "The increase in shipments results from the company's ESPN campaign to build awareness of the Olevia brand. Launched in September 2006 across all ESPN media outlets, as well as our sponsorship with Dwell Magazine and The Dwell Homes by Empyrean, together generated outstanding retail sell-through during Black Friday and the recent holiday shopping period."
According to New York-based research firm Gfk NOP's OmniTel survey, overall awareness of the Olevia brand rose 69% among adults age 18 for the period of September 1, 2006 through the second week of November 2006, which coincides with the launch of the broad ESPN campaign. Significantly, Olevia brand awareness rose 174% during this period among its key demographic of males age 18 to 34. Additionally, Olevia brand awareness rose more than 100% during this same period among males between the ages of 35 and 54.
