Motient Communications to Initiate Changes to DataTAC Network Coverage

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Motient Communications Inc. (Pink Sheets:MNCP) announced today that it would begin making changes to the coverage profile of its DataTAC network starting on May 1, 2006. The DataTAC network will continue to provide coverage in all of the metropolitan statistical areas that are currently covered by the network, but the coverage within those MSAs will be focused towards on-street mobile coverage. Consequently, current users of the DataTAC network will experience degradation in signal strength and quality, particularly indoors. These changes may, in some cases, prevent a user from obtaining efficient coverage at specific locations where they previously had coverage.

Motient Communications will be forwarding notification letters to each billed customer no later than February 20, 2006
