Gary Hannah Joins Prosoft Management Team; New Vice President to Focus on Schools' Adoption of CIW
Business Wire, Feb 13, 2006
PHOENIX -- Prosoft Learning Corp. (OTCBB:POSO), a learning solutions provider and the owner of the award-winning CIW certification program, today announced that Gary L. Hannah has joined the management team as vice president and CIW program manager. In his new role, Hannah will be responsible for accelerating the implementation of CIW in academic curricula across the country. He will work closely with individual secondary and post-secondary schools as well as school districts and state Departments of Education to adopt the Internet technology and job-readiness program.
Hannah brings to Prosoft more than 30 years of experience in membership development, program expansion, operations, marketing and fund raising in the education industry. Prior to joining Prosoft, he served for six years as Education to Careers program manager for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), an international information technology association, where he was instrumental in establishing and growing the academic membership program, increasing certification revenue and standardizing IT curriculum in secondary schools. Previous to CompTIA, he was president and CEO of Business Professionals of America, a career and technical student organization, and held several leadership positions with Junior Achievement, an international educational nonprofit.
Benjamin Fink, president and CEO of Prosoft, said of Hannah, "There are very few people in America who have such relevant experience in working with our target constituency. Gary has a successful track record in integrating vendor-neutral certification programs into academic curricula and he is passionate about America's students graduating with marketable skills. That's a unique combination of experience and passion, and I'm very pleased that Gary is eager to apply that to further the success of the CIW program."
Hannah said, "I am very excited about the opportunity to work at Prosoft. I'm really looking forward to building upon the relationships in my own network as well as those that Prosoft already has in order to bring more awareness of CIW to the academic community. My goal is to further Prosoft's success in demonstrating how CIW standards and objectives map to what schools and state Departments of Education are requiring in the classroom for Web development courses. I want to further emphasize to them the value of CIW, and that it is accepted and sought after as a viable certification for students to have in order to show they have the skills that employers are demanding."
The award-winning CIW certification program helps individuals prepare for the highly competitive digital economy by teaching the essential Internet-technology and workplace skills required by today's employers. CIW is the world's largest industry-recognized job-readiness certification, validating skills in a variety of IT disciplines, including Web site and e-commerce development, network administration, security, and Web languages.
