GlobeRanger iMotion Edgeware Platform Achieves Certified Integration with SAP® Auto-ID Infrastructure; Integration Provides Value and Cost Savings for RFID Customers
Business Wire, Feb 13, 2006
RICHARDSON, Texas -- GlobeRanger, a leading provider of RFID, mobility and sensor-based software solutions, today announced that its iMotion Edgeware platform has successfully achieved SAP certification for integration of iMotion with the SAP(R) Auto-ID Infrastructure component of the SAP NetWeaver(R) platform, which powers many of the SAP solutions for RFID.
SAP provides a rich set of integration technologies that enable third-party vendors to integrate their software with SAP solutions seamlessly for more customer satisfaction. SAP's RFID certification process helps ensure that customers deploying the GlobeRanger solution can seamlessly integrate iMotion's device and data management capabilities with the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure. GlobeRanger has worked closely with SAP Labs throughout the testing and certification process. Testing was successfully completed for all business processes within the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure.
For certification, iMotion was tested for accepting commands from SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure and orchestrating RFID devices across various business processes. Data from a broad variety of RFID devices was collected and normalized by the iMotion platform then presented back to SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure via Application Level Events (ALE), an EPCglobal software standard. SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure orchestrates and integrates additional business processes by adding the business context and integration to back-end systems to the edge event data received. Additional test scenarios included encoding and printing tags from EPCs generated by SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure, sending GTINs that were captured by barcode scanners back to SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure, and integration of motion sensors.
"GlobeRanger provides the most cost-effective, flexible and extensible edge technology platform in the market today," said Hanns-Christian Hanebeck, Director, Enterprise Applications of GlobeRanger Corporation. "Certified integration of iMotion Edgeware with SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure gives customers further confidence in the integration between the enterprise edge and their core systems."
