WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- ExaGrid Systems, Inc., the leader in Intelligent Disk-based Data Protection today announced that its turnkey disk-based backup appliances are now available to federal and GSA authorized state and local government agencies through Interlan's GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule contract, GS35F-0415L.

ExaGrid offers a turnkey appliance that works in conjunction with existing backup applications and is 25 percent the cost of standard SATA disk. ExaGrid's unique byte-level delta technology stores deltas for each version instead of storing full file copies. This unique approach reduces the amount of disk space needed to at least 20 to 1, resulting in a significant cost savings over standard SATA drives.

With ExaGrid, organizations can replace onsite tape backups with a disk-based backup appliance, and still maintain their existing offsite tape strategy. ExaGrid is easy to install and use, and fits seamlessly into existing environments, enabling companies to leverage their technology investments.

For disaster recovery, an optional second site system can be deployed at another location to supplement or eliminate offsite tapes with a live data repository. ExaGrid is extremely cost effective as a second site as our byte-level delta technology only moves changes, requiring minimal WAN bandwidth.
