SoonR Announces Support for MSN Search and MS Outlook; SoonR's Outlook Mobile Solution Enables Remote Access With the Ability to Search Information Stored on the Desktop
Business Wire, Feb 14, 2006
CAMPBELL, Calif. -- SoonR, the first provider of secure mobile access to applications on your PC over any network from any handset, today announced support for MSN Search and MS Outlook. SoonR registered users can now access Outlook on their PCs as well as search any file, email, contact or event and send email from any Web enabled phone leveraging MSN Search on the PC -- no synchronization is required.
"We believe that by providing remote access to Outlook coupled with MSN search, we are offering SoonR and Outlook users a compelling mobile solution," said Martin Frid-Nielsen, CEO of SoonR. "By allowing consumers to search and access Outlook from the most common mobile handsets, we are extending smart phone capabilities to consumers who use one of the millions of phones in service today."
Instead of copying or synchronizing information from Outlook to the limited memory of the mobile phone, SoonR users can directly access all the contacts and emails stored in Outlook regardless of size. The SoonR service will only move the requested data, optimized for the handset, typically resulting in faster performance, especially for slow data networks. In addition, users can share their Outlook Calendars with other mobile and browser based users without the need for an Exchange server or a third party service.
Desktop Search functionality brings an extremely powerful tool to the mobile user -- It's like having your entire PC with you on your mobile phone. Anything that can be indexed on your desktop, including email and contacts, is now accessible from your phone, anywhere you may roam. The SoonR solution supports enhanced security concerns as sensitive information is not stored on the phone, but retrieved only when needed.
