Uranium Energy Corp. Announces the Appointment of Leading Uranium and ISL Expert Harry Anthony as Chief Operating Officer

AUSTIN, Texas -- Uranium Energy Corp. ("UEC") (OTCBB:URME) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Harry Anthony as the Company's Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Anthony joins UEC's technical team already eminent in the field of uranium exploration and development. Mr. Anthony will provide significant contributions toward the Company's plans of developing uranium production, particularly with respect to In Situ Leach-amenable uranium deposits. He will immediately begin work on the company's foundation asset, the Goliad project, in South Texas.

Mr. Anthony is an internationally recognized expert in the uranium industry. Mr. Anthony is a professional engineer who has been at the forefront of multiple aspects of the uranium industry for over thirty years. He is particularly noted as being a pioneer of the emerging extraction technology for the uranium mining sector known as In-Situ-Leaching, or ISL. ISL has proven to be a less costly and less environmentally obtrusive technique for mining uranium than any other method currently in use. Mr. Anthony has been involved with every notable ISL uranium mine in the US and abroad, at all levels of development, including feasibility, design and management.
Mr. Anthony was a senior officer and director of Uranium Resources Inc, a publicly-listed uranium mining company in the US. During his 20-year tenure at Uranium Resources, he was responsible for all technical aspects of mine development. Most recently, Mr. Anthony acted as a leading consultant to several senior uranium companies and international agencies, including Union Carbide, Urangesellschaft, Kennecott, Rio Algom, Heathgate Resources, and others. His consulting work has also given him considerable international exposure, particularly with uranium deposits in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Mr. Anthony's focus has been on technical aspects of large uranium operations, primarily responsible for project evaluation, operations, and offering financial expertise in business models.
Mr. Anthony holds BSc and MSc degrees in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has written and presented numerous reference papers on uranium and ISL mining on behalf of leading nationally recognized bodies including the International Atomic Energy Agency. Mr. Anthony is a member and past board member of several professional and academic societies.
