West Georgia National Bank Promotes Eight Officers

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- L. Leighton Alston, Chief Executive Officer of West Georgia National Bank, a subsidiary of WGNB Corp. (NASDAQ: WGNB), the thirty-ninth highest performing publicly traded community bank under $1 billion in assets in the nation according to US Banker, announced today the promotion of eight officers.
Susan Pierce, who has been with WGNB for more than 20 years, was promoted to Assistant Vice President. Pierce serves as Retail Branch Manager at the Bowdon Office. In addition to her managerial duties, she assists customers with their consumer lending needs. She completed the Community Bankers Association (CBA) Consumer Lending School in 2001 and is a member of the Bowdon Sertoma Club.

Francisco Baldizon, Bilingual Consumer Lender at the Maple Street Office, received a promotion to Assistant Vice President. Baldizon has been a member of the WGNB Team for nearly 4 years. He attended the University of West Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, with a minor in Spanish. He is actively involved in the Carrollton Morning Sertoma Club and serves on the Hispanic Business Council and Leadership Academy Planning Committee for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. Baldizon is also part of the University of West Georgia Multicultural Advisory Board.
Charity Aaron, Marketing Manager at the Maple Street Office, was promoted to Banking Officer. Aaron is a 2002 graduate of the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Business Management. In addition to her duties at WGNB, she serves as Vice President of Communications for West Georgia Bankers Association, Publicity Chairperson for the Carrollton Junior Woman's Club, Assistant Treasurer for Kiwanis Club of Fairfield Plantation and is an Ambassador for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
Lynn Shadrix, Retail Banking Manager at the Maple Street Office, is now a Banking Officer. Shadrix has served in various job capacities throughout her nearly 20 year career with WGNB. She is actively involved in community activities and plays the piano for a local church.
Patty Riggs, Retail Branch Manager at the First Tuesday Mall Office, is one of WGNB's newest Banking Officers. Riggs is a graduate of Floyd College, where she received a degree in Business Management. She has been in the banking industry for 16 years and completed the Community Bankers Association (CBA) Consumer Lending School in 2003.
Fernando Baldizon is now a Banking Officer. Baldizon serves as a Bilingual Consumer Lender at the Villa Rica Office. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, with a minor in Spanish from the University of West Georgia. He recently joined the Villa Rica High School Athletic Booster Club and is on the Hispanic Business Council for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
Teresa Simpkins, Asset Recovery Supervisor at the Maple Street Office, was promoted to Banking Officer. Simpkins has 20 years of banking experience and attended Clayton College and State University where she received a degree in Accounting.
James Fulford, Construction Lender at the Douglasville Office, received a promotion to Banking Officer. Fulford is a 2001 graduate of the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate. He also completed the Community Bankers Association (CBA) Consumer Lending School in 2004. Fulford currently serves as Treasurer for the Carrollton Evening Sertoma Club.
