Fairchild Semiconductor Wins Another analogZONE Product of the Year Award; Chosen for Best Mainstream Video Product

Business Wire, Feb 2, 2006

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), the leading global supplier of high performance products that optimize system power, today announced another of the company's analog products has been chosen by analogZONE as the best in its category. Selected by the editors, the highly-integrated FMS6501Video Switch joins Fairchild's RMPA2265 RF Power Amplifier Module, which was announced as a winner earlier in 2005.

AnalogZONE calls Fairchild's video switch "an innovative product" and goes on to say that "With its effective support of virtually any worldwide video standard, the FMS6501 will get a lot of design wins in places where discrete solutions are currently in use in a wide variety of current and future consumer products."

"Our awards are not a popularity contest," said Editor-in-Chief Paul McGoldrick. "The Product of the Year awards are based on the selections of our editors, all of whom are specialists in their fields. Every award named reflects a product that we believe will be a significant success." analogZone is an online publication providing design engineers in power management and a broad range of applications with valuable, timely information on global analog products.

"Analog power solutions are a key focus for Fairchild as we concentrate on designing higher value products for our customers. We're honored to once again be recognized by analogZONE for our power solutions," said Bob Conrad, Fairchild's senior vice president and general manager, Analog Products Group. "The FMS6501 is the first video switch matrix device to integrate analog switch capability, input clamps, bias circuitry and cable drivers into one device. This highly integrated device reduces board space by 50%, costs and time-to-market for high growth applications such as satellite set-top boxes, HDTVs, personal video recorders and automobile entertainment systems."
