Schematic Selected by Vongo for User Interface Design and Application; Interactive Services Agency Plays Key Development Role and Designs User Interface for New Movie Download Service from Starz Entertainment Group

Business Wire, Feb 28, 2006

LOS ANGELES -- Schematic, the award-winning interactive services agency, today announced it designed and implemented the user interface of Starz Entertainment Group LLC's (SEG) new movie download service, Vongo. Launched in beta in January, the Vongo download application and broadband service delivers movies and other video content over the Internet for playback on Windows-based PCs, laptops and select portable media devices, as well as on a TV.

SEG selected Schematic as a vendor for the project based on the agency's extensive development expertise for advanced platforms and creation of compelling user experiences. The interactive services agency was an integral part of the development process and worked with SEG from the inception through the final, commercially launched beta version of Vongo. Over the course of the project, Schematic developed the graphic identity of the Vongo brand and application, created the user interface, wrote the ActionScript 2 and Flash Remoting client software and developed the product's Java API.

"Among the many factors in establishing Vongo as a critical component of 'the new entertainment ecosystem' is the advanced user interface," said Bob Greene, senior vice president of advanced services, SEG. "Schematic played an important role in the development of Vongo, and its efforts have helped drive its early success and positive reviews."

"SEG's Vongo application is an excellent example of the ways in which the public is beginning to consume media and entertainment content -- anytime and anywhere they want," said Andrew Solmssen, executive vice president, Schematic. "Our work on Vongo is one of the most complex Flash applications created to date, yet we are especially proud of the seamless, compelling and easy way users are able to find and watch exactly what they want."

Vongo subscribers have unlimited access to more than 1,000 movies and video selections, as well as a live, streaming Starz TV channel, for a monthly cost of $9.99. Members may download movie and video selections to three eligible devices of their choice per account, allowing for multiple viewing options and family enjoyment. Additionally, select popular pay-per-view titles are available for $3.99 per movie. Vongo is currently available for broadband subscribers in the United States at http://www.vongo.com/.> About Schematic
