General Wesley K. Clark Joins Rodman & Renshaw as Chairman

NEW YORK -- Rodman & Renshaw Holding, LLC, today announces the appointment of General Wesley K. Clark (ret.) as Chairman of the Board and Head of the Advisory Board.

General Wesley K. Clark is one of the nation's most distinguished retired military officers. During his thirty-four years of service in United States Army, he held numerous staff and command positions and rose to the rank of 4-star general and NATO Supreme Allied Commander.

A candidate for the presidency in 2003, General Clark is now chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic advisory and consulting firm where he advises a number of corporations and private equity funds. He also serves on the boards of several private companies and nonprofit organizations and comments regularly on politics, diplomacy and public affairs.

Prior to his run for the presidency, General Clark was a Managing Director at The Stephens Group, one of the largest investment banks outside New York.

General Clark was NATO Supreme Allied Commander and Commander in Chief of the United States European Command from 1997 through May of 2000. In this position, General Clark commanded Operation Allied Force, NATO's first major combat action, which saved 1.5 million Albanians from ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. From 1996 to 1997 General Clark served as Commander in Chief of the United States Southern Command, Panama, where he was responsible for the direction of U.S. military activities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

From 1994 to 1996, he served as Director for Strategic Plans and Policy for the Joint Chiefs of Staff with responsibilities for worldwide U.S. military strategic planning.

General Clark's awards and honors include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, The State Department Distinguished Service Award, the US Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), The US Army Distinguished Service Medal (two awards), The Silver Star, the Legion of Merit (four awards), the Bronze Star (two awards), the Purple Heart, Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (UK), Knight Grand Cross in the Order of Orange-Nassau (Netherlands), Commander of the Legion of Honor (France) and high-ranking awards from the governments of Germany, Spain, Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Argentina and Morocco.

General Clark graduated first in his class from the United States Military Academy (B.S.) and completed degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University (B.A. and M.A.) as a Rhodes Scholar. General Clark holds honorary doctorates from Lyon College, Seton Hall, Drake University and the University of Arkansas. He also holds an honorary doctor of law degree from Rippon College.
