Business Wire, Feb 6, 2006
NEWARK, Calif. -- Socket Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity products, today announced the formation of a Technology Advisory Board (TAB). The TAB is comprised of industry veterans with strong industry and technical backgrounds who will provide a "sounding board" for reviewing and discussing product plans, roadmaps, future product concepts and potential technologies to incorporate into Socket's product lines. This includes utilization of Socket's current technologies as well as potential joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions to broaden Socket's product lines.
"Establishing the TAB has been on our strategic path for some time, and we're very excited to have set-up and attracted such high-caliber individuals to participate," said Mike Gifford, founder and executive vice president at Socket. "Our TAB members represent four primary technology segments which we believe are fundamental to Socket's growth. These include Portable Data Collection and Capture, Computer Accessories, Mobile Devices and Application Software."
Initially, the TAB will be comprised of seven members for a minimum term of one year. There will be two Socket technical team members attending TAB meetings in addition to the TAB Chairman and up to four independent TAB members. Independent TAB members for 2006 include:
