Business Wire, Feb 6, 2006
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minneapolis-based Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio today announced it will begin inventory liquidation in its Dallas and Fort Worth retail showrooms and complete its Texas market divestiture by the middle of the year, according to Gary Pedersen, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Gabberts' Dallas retail showroom is located at 13342 Midway Road and its Fort Worth retail showroom is located at 6301 Oakmont Boulevard. Storewide inventory liquidation sales will begin at both stores on Thursday, Feb. 9, with additional discounts on all furniture, fine area rugs, lighting, accessories, fine art and mattresses. The sale will include leading manufacturers such as Stickley, Hendredon, Century and Bernhardt.
Gabberts will fulfill all current customer orders and related service commitments. Customers with questions about pending orders may call 972 233 3232 for the Dallas store, 817-346-5600 for the Fort Worth store or visit gabberts.com for more information.
The company's Fort Worth store, which it owns, is currently being marketed for sale. Gabberts leases its Dallas showroom and service center.
Gabberts announced plans in November to divest its Dallas/Fort Worth operations and to redesign its flagship retail showroom at the Galleria shopping center in the Twin Cities suburb of Edina.
Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio has been a leading home furnishings retailer in the Metroplex for more than three decades. The company opened its 100,000 square foot Dallas showroom and design studio in 1973 and its 70,000 square foot Fort Worth showroom and design studio in 1987.
Company namesake Don Gabbert founded Gabberts in the 1940s in Minneapolis. Son Jim Gabbert was named president of the company in 1980, and in 1987, upon Don's retirement, he became chairman and chief executive officer. The company's flagship store is a 150,000 square foot retail showroom/headquarters facility located in the Twin Cities suburb of Edina.
The company over the last 10 years has been named "Best Home Furnishings Retailer in America" by House Beautiful magazine, "Best Tried and True Interiors Store" by D Home magazine and "Best Furniture Store" by Fort Worth, Texas magazine. For more information visit gabberts.com.
