Web Information Solutions Announces Availability of Mobile Personal Contact Syncing Capability with Plaxo®

Business Wire, Feb 7, 2006

AUSTIN, Texas -- Users of Pocket Informant personal information management (PIM) software for the Windows Mobile OS soon will be able to experience the benefits of the contact syncing capabilities of Mobile Sync for Plaxo, a new application from Web Information Solutions (WebIS) for the Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 personal information manager (PIM) platforms. Mobile Sync for Plaxo was developed with the Plaxo open Application Program Interface (API) to enable the seamless porting of address book information stored on personal computers to the PocketPC.

Pocket Informant is the award-winning flagship product developed for Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS by WebIS. Plaxo is the creator of the Universal Address Book that enables millions of members to stay in touch with their information, friends and colleagues. As Plaxo becomes increasingly popular, people often find that their friends and colleagues are already members, creating a network of people whose contact information is always up-to-date through the address book updating that occurs between linked members.

By mid-February, WebIS customers who want to add Mobile Sync for Plaxo contact syncing capabilities can download a desktop installer through www.webis.net/sync. The introductory price for this WebIS software enhancement is $12.95.

Mobile Sync for Plaxo and Pocket Informant will enable customers to continue using the PIM applications they already run, while securely updating and maintaining the information in their address book. The integrated Plaxo technology will provide updating and synchronization capabilities, as well as the ability to back up all the information between a customer's work and home computers, cell phone and personal digital assistant (PDA). It enables access to this information from anywhere, on any personal computer or mobile device and can help to restore this valuable data if a portable device crashes or is stolen. Future versions of the solution available during the summer of 2006 will sync Notes, Tasks, and Calendar data.

"For WebIS, this new capability with Plaxo addresses a missing piece of the puzzle for users who need the flexibility and conveniences of a truly wireless and disconnected office. Now, users can be anywhere outside of their offices and remain synced up their work groups," commented Alex Kac, founder and chief executive officer of WebIS.

WebIS received positive customer feedback from the beta test of Mobile Sync for Plaxo and Pocket Informant that WebIS conducted in December 2005 and early January 2006. Sales professionals and other mobile computing users who travel often and must maintain a large number of contacts are especially pleased with the new Plaxo/WebIS functionality, Kac said.

"We're pleased to work with WebIS to make the Plaxo address book information directly accessible from the PocketPC," said Ben Golub, president and CEO, Plaxo, Inc. "The greater benefit will be a universal and up-to-date address book that can be accessed and used at home, at work, and on the road, and from any application where you need it."

WebIS is the only mobile application developer working with Plaxo to offer this API. Plaxo will provide WebIS access to its servers to enable syncing capabilities between address book contact information on laptops, desktops, PDAs and cellular phones.
