Akibia Unveils Enhanced HP Support Services; Company Expands Mission-Critical High Availability Support Capabilities
Business Wire, Feb 8, 2006
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- Akibia, a leading independent IT services provider, announced today increased service and support capabilities for Hewlett Packard's Dual-Core PA-RISC and Integrity product lines.
Fortune 1000 companies increasingly leverage Akibia to consolidate all of their HP systems support needs under a single point of contact. Akibia provides hardware maintenance and Operating System (OS) support for all HP systems running HP-UX, Linux or Windows. Building on the company's experience supporting HP9000s, Akibia now provides maintenance services for the Superdome and the rx product line.
"High-availability servers have increased the need for mission-critical support," said Ron Silliman, a principle research analyst with Gartner. "With critical applications running on these servers, companies are, in turn, demanding the most reliable, cost-effective and efficient service from their support providers."
Akibia's HP support capabilities have continuously expanded to meet customer requirements. As more data centers demand high-availability, mission-critical maintenance and support services, expanding Akibia's HP support capabilities to include the Superdome is a logical extension for the company.
As a vendor-neutral data center support services provider, companies turn to Akibia for system and hardware support, as their maintenance and warranty contracts expire on servers from HP, as well as Sun and Dell. Founded as a services company, Akibia has no hardware agenda, and offers true multi-vendor, multi-platform support and maintenance services.
"Akibia is committed to the highest level of customer satisfaction and recognizes that each customer's support needs are unique," said Tom Willson, CEO of Akibia. "As a result, we partner closely with our customers, combining people, processes and infrastructure to deliver customized, cost-effective HP support solutions optimized for the customer's specific environment."
