Internet Security Systems teams with Solidcore to Offer Comprehensive Server and Desktop Protection; Host-Protection Solution Initially Targeted at Public Sector Market
Business Wire, Feb 9, 2006
ATLANTA -- Internet Security Systems (ISS) (NASDAQ: ISSX), the worldwide leader in preemptive enterprise security, today announced it has teamed with Solidcore Systems, Inc., the leading provider of IT control solutions, to offer a next-generation enterprise solution for desktop and server security tailored to meet government regulations. The host-protection solution will be designed to enable government customers to effectively and thoroughly protect their organizations from both internal and external compromise and remain ahead of critical online threats with very low operational overhead.
The combination of ISS' desktop and server protection agents and Solidcore's control technology will provide government agencies an operationally efficient solution that can scan desktops and servers, provide comprehensive system and application protection, maintain file and registry integrity, protect against network-based attacks, and enable compliance sustainability.
Integrated compliance sustainability allows government agencies to measure against compliance standards for securing critical systems. This includes information assurance alerts such as Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO) and others that are elements of information assurance best practices in the Department of Defense as well as Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) reporting.
"By working together, ISS and Solidcore are addressing a fundamental need for comprehensive host protection across all layers, including networks, systems, and applications, to offer a single unified management console," said Steve Cooker, vice president and general manager, public sector and mid-south operations for Internet Security Systems. "The ISS and Solidcore solution will provide the highest levels of IT control, information security and regulatory compliance available."
The new offering will give security administrators visibility into a system's security posture over extended periods of time. It will deliver substantially higher levels of protection for multiple platforms, including Windows-based systems, and will offer greatly enhanced ease of use to security administrators at significantly reduced levels of operational overhead.
"We are excited to be teaming with an industry leader like ISS to bring a truly innovative and integrated security and compliance solution to the market," said Robert Sandie, executive vice president of worldwide operations at Solidcore. "The public sector's high standards make it an ideal high-volume entry point for this new solution, and we anticipate it moving into the broader commercial market soon thereafter."
