Business Wire, Jan 10, 2006
HOUSTON -- One of the nation's foremost business publications has recognized David Weekley Homes in its annual rankings of business success. FORTUNE touted David Weekley Homes as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For."
"At David Weekley Homes, we have created a culture that enhances people's lives. We have worked hard to build a world-class company that employees, vendors and customers want to be associated with," said David Weekley, Chairman of David Weekley Homes. "David Weekley Homes is committed to setting the standard of excellence in the industry and, to achieve this goal, we must provide a challenging work environment for our team members. We are certainly proud of this national recognition that confirms we are doing what it takes to compete successfully and responsibly in today's marketplace."
David Weekley Homes' number 24 overall ranking and 10th among small companies on FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list was based on the company's evaluation of its policies and culture, and the opinions of the company's employees. David Weekley Homes employs more than 1,300 team members nationwide.
"In addition to providing team members with the tools and incentives needed to achieve the best results possible in the workplace, we also offer programs that can help to enhance their lives outside of the office," added Weekley. "One such program is Marketplace Ministries."
Marketplace Ministries, active in all 16 markets, provides employee assistance free of charge. The program is open to all team members and their immediate families who need special guidance or advice or who simply need someone to lend an ear 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Non-denominational chaplains are also readily available to help team members with wedding or funeral arrangements.
"It pleases me to be able to provide unique services such as this to our team members and their families," said Weekley.
