Poster Compliance Center Advises Alaska Employers of Change in Mandatory Workplace Posting; Alaska Department of Labor Issues Revised Unemployment Insurance Notice

JUNEAU, Alaska -- The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development has revised a mandatory workplace notice that notifies employees about their coverage under the Unemployment Insurance program administered by the Employment Security Division.

The revised notice includes new information about filing a new claim or reopening an existing Alaska claim for benefits on the internet or by phone. In the past claims could only be filed by telephone.

The new website is www.labor.state.ak.us (click on Unemployment Benefits Online).

In addition, the notice no longer advises employees to contact their local Alaska Employment Service office to register for work.
