Hyperion Positioned in Visionary Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms
Business Wire, Jan 17, 2006
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Hyperion (Nasdaq:HYSL), recently positioned in the leader quadrant of Gartner Inc.'s Magic Quadrant for Corporate Performance Management (CPM) Suites, published 4 November 2005, today announced that it has also been named to the visionary quadrant in the firm's newly released Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms, published 9 January 2006. The Hyperion BI Platform was evaluated on "completeness of vision" and its "ability to execute" in the Gartner report.
According to Gartner, they expect the BI platform market to continue to grow at a solid pace during the next five years. Organizations are increasing their spending, particularly as BI evolves from its reactive departmental roots to become more pervasive and strategic. The firm also predicts that the long-term prospects for the market look solid, especially as large organizations embrace corporate performance management and work to comply with various government regulations. Traditionally, BI was just for senior executives and analysts, but many enterprises are extending their BI platform capabilities throughout the organization to operational workers and managers.
Hyperion System 9 delivers on the vision of a Business Performance Management system that is one of the first to break down the barrier between business and IT; is one of the first to make it possible for everyone within the enterprise to learn and use BI; and is one of the first to integrate a BI platform with financial management applications.
"Our success in performance management is directly tied to our capabilities in Business Intelligence and, particularly, our BI advances in Hyperion System 9," said Heidi Melin, chief marketing officer for Hyperion. "Hyperion System 9 BI helps our users quickly and intuitively report against relational and multidimensional sources in one session, using one interface. We're also delivering the broadest BI functionality through the integration of reporting with financial management applications in Hyperion System 9. Now, customers are not forced to choose between a great BI platform and a seamless path to performance management."
Hyperion BI , as part of Hyperion System 9, also works with Hyperion Master Data Management (MDM) Services to provide consistent master data definitions across the enterprise, and allows business users to directly manage complex, rapidly changing master data. Hyperion is the only Business Performance Management company to offer such capabilities.
According to Gartner, visionaries have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service delivery.
