Momentus 5400.3 is the world's first notebook disc drive family from Seagate built on perpendicular recording technology, delivering the highest areal density - 132 Gbits per square inch - to provide the highest levels of drive capacity, reliability and performance. With industry leading operational shock tolerance of 350 Gs, the 5400 RPM drive gives Alienware notebooks a more stable operating environment. And with a 160GB hard drive, Alienware mobile users have the convenience of taking all their content with them wherever they go rather than being forced to adjust to the limitations of smaller hard drive capacities. Customers can save more of their digital videos and photos, recorded television programming, music, games, and more, as well as install more office and entertainment applications.
"More system builders like Alienware are turning to Momentus drives so they can build notebooks with the ruggedness, performance, power efficiency and capacity that more end users are demanding," said Karl Chicca, Seagate senior vice president and general manager, Personal Storage. "Seagate has once again demonstrated its leadership in the notebook disc drive market by setting a new capacity benchmark with the first 2.5-inch perpendicular recording drive."
"Alienware's mobile systems have always given customers highly beneficial features that they won't find anywhere else. The Momentus 5400.3 160GB mobile hard drive is the latest example of this," said Frank Azor, Senior Vice-President and General Manager for Alienware. "With dual hard drive configurations of up to an incredible 320GB, Alienware mobile users have the freedom to do more, enjoy more, and experience more."
