Business Wire, Jan 18, 2006
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- DSL.net, Inc. (OTCBB: DSLN), a leading nationwide provider of broadband communications services to businesses, today introduced a new low-priced bundle for phone service and high-speed Internet access for businesses called Duet Voice & Data. For as little as $99 a month for two phone lines and a broadband data connection, Duet provides unlimited local and regional calling, unlimited long-distance calling and true business-class Internet access with a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. Duet's basic packages offer savings of 50% or more and similar attractive bundled savings are available for up to 16 phone lines.
The Company is launching the Duet bundled voice and data service through a direct marketing campaign in the New York City and Washington, D.C., metropolitan markets that urges businesses to "make the leap to savings" for their phone service and high-speed Internet access. A friendly frog, which DSL.net employees have named "Rudy," appears in a series of direct mail pieces making the leap to savings. "Rudy" is also featured on a new website (www.getduet.com) geared solely to the Duet brand. In addition, DSL.net is backing the Duet launch with an expanded sales organization and an online advertising campaign.
"We are very excited about aggressively pushing into these two large markets with what we believe is not only a great product, but also the lowest-priced service of its kind for small and medium-sized businesses," said David F. Struwas, president and chief executive officer of DSL.net. "It is our goal to leverage our high-quality VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network platform and become a key player in the rapidly emerging VoIP marketplace."
Diane Gongaware, senior vice president of sales and marketing at DSL.net, added: "We anticipate Duet making an impact in the marketplace with its emphasis on price, friendly and knowledgeable customer support, and the fact that businesses can utilize our premium calling features with their existing phone numbers and phone systems. We've made switching phone service to Duet pretty simple. Businesses can 'make the leap' to big savings with no equipment to buy and free installation, all backed by a 90-day satisfaction guarantee through our special introductory offer."
To further emphasize its suite of Duet integrated voice and data product offerings, the Company is establishing a sales group in New York City that will concentrate on multi-line customers while its existing sales presence in Virginia will target multi-line customers in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland markets.
Duet's $99 per month flat-rate introductory offer for two phone lines and high-speed broadband Internet access applies to customers that sign a one-year agreement and pay by credit card only. The unlimited long-distance calling applies to outbound domestic calls and is not available to certain high-volume category users such as telemarketing agencies.
