John G. King Joins Misys plc Board of Directors; King's 30-plus Years of Healthcare Industry Experience Provide Additional Strategic, Financial and Operational Expertise to Healthcare IT Leader

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Misys plc, the parent company of Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare information technology (IT), recently announced the appointment of John G. King to its board of directors. A prominent healthcare executive with more than 30 years of industry experience, King brings a strong vision of the future of healthcare IT to Misys. As a member of the board, King will provide overall advice and counsel as the company continues to develop. He will also serve on the Misys plc audit, remuneration and nomination committees. King's appointment follows his most recent role as CEO of Legacy Health Systems of Portland, OR.

King's many roles have included CEO of healthcare delivery organizations Holy Cross Health System in South Bend, Ind., and Advocate Healthcare (formerly Evangelical Health Systems) in Chicago, Ill. He has also served as director of Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Pacific University of Oregon, HealthEast Care System in Minnesota, and Health Dialog in Massachusetts. King is also a past chairman for the American Hospital Association in 1998.
King has received several awards during his illustrious career, most recently being honored with the American Hospital Association's (AHA) 2005 Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes significant lifetime contributions and service to healthcare institutions and associations. In addition, The Jewish National Fund presented King with the Tree of Life Award, acknowledging his dedication to community service, community involvement and devotion to peace and the security of human life. King has also received the 1999 Healthcare Executive of the Year Award from B'nai B'rith of New York and the 1998 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Regent's Quality in Healthcare Award.
King is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and continues to serve on the Board of the Center for Healthcare Governance and Health Dialog. He is also a member of the Institute of Healthcare Research and Development.
