Business Wire, Jan 19, 2006
PITTSBURGH -- Cardo Systems, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of wireless Bluetooth(TM) products for the consumer market, announced today a new distribution partnership with CompUSA, Inc., a leading technology retailer. Under the terms of the agreement, CompUSA will serve as a retail distribution point for Cardo's scala-500 Bluetooth wireless headset, which will be offered in the CompUSA's network of more than 240 retail outlets in 90 different US and Puerto Rican markets.
As part of the partnership, Cardo's scala-500 Bluetooth wireless headset will be among the featured products in CompUSA's commercial flier for January 2006, which is set to be distributed to 33 million US homes. The addition of the scala-500 headset further expands CompUSA's line of Bluetooth-related communication accessory products.
"Cardo has seen a tremendous growth in demand for its products, and in particular for the scala-500 headset, and our partnership with CompUSA will allow consumers across the United States to purchase the device in nearby CompUSA stores," said Abraham Glezerman, founder and CEO of Cardo Systems, Inc. "The scala-500 headset is a state-of-the-art device, and we look forward to working with CompUSA to increase our distribution network for this and additional Cardo products."
The scala-500 Bluetooth wireless headset is one of Cardo's primary wireless communication products and features the company's proprietary WindGuard(TM) technology that blocks wind noise interference. Specially engineered with echo-canceling technology, users can experience crisp, clean audio capabilities no matter where they travel. The scala-500 also includes Cardo's patent-pending VersaClip(TM) attachment option for use with eye/sunglasses, as well as a separate car charger attachment for on-the-go use. In addition, the scala-500 headset features a wide range of hands-free wireless functions, including voice dial, call waiting support, call reject, volume control (13 levels, up to 20 db), conference call, and more.
"The scala-500 headset is a great looking, feature-rich, hands-free accessory and will fit well with our existing product line of premium wireless communication accessories," said Brian Woods, executive vice president and general merchandising manager of CompUSA. "We think our customers will be excited to find the scala-500 Bluetooth headset in our stores."
