BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- TAG Entertainment Corp. (OTCBB:TAGE), a full-service entertainment company specializing in the production and distribution of family oriented motion pictures, today announced that it has completed production of its feature-length film "Red Riding Hood," a contemporary musical version of the classic children's tale by The Brothers Grimm produced by integrating live action with computer generated digital effects. The contemporary musical film has been delivered for distribution and is slated to be released domestically by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Nearly all of the live action for "Red Riding Hood" was shot on bluescreens, with computers matching the live actors to the digital sets in real time and displaying the combined result on high-definition monitors for director Randal Kleiser's viewing reference. Although this has been done for certain sequences on feature films before, we believe that "Red Riding Hood" is one of the first films to make such visualization procedures common practice throughout the entire production. Utilizing this approach enables smaller, independent production companies to achieve high-quality production values within their budget constraints.
"We have achieved amazing results and stunning imagery with this digital filming format," said Steve Austin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TAG Entertainment Corp. "Developing a musical version of `Red Riding Hood' required a lot of imagination both creatively and operationally. This film is the perfect project to challenge the standard ways to produce a feature-length film. In addition to the many creative benefits, we were able to merge a significant amount of our post-production activities with production. We anticipate that this will give TAG a distinct competitive advantage in bringing films to market more efficiently and at a lower production cost in the future."
"The production of `Red Riding Hood' represents a significant achievement as it completely redefined the workflow of conventional filmmaking. The integration of digital technology freed our imagination and eliminated common budget constraints by allowing us to bring digitally all of the movie locations directly to the set. This advanced production environment also enabled us to attract wonderful talent who shared our enthusiasm for embracing this production approach," stated Randal Kleiser, Director of "Red Riding Hood."
"Red Riding Hood" is directed by Randal Kleiser ("Grease," "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble," "The Gathering," "Honey I Blew Up the Kid," "Big Top Pee Wee," "White Fang") and produced by Steve Austin ("No Place Like Home," "The Retrievers," "Hansel & Gretel," "Miracle Dogs," "The Santa Trap").
The well-known tale will come to life through the musical re-creation performed by well-known Hollywood stars, including Lainie Kazan ("Gigli," "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," "Harry and the Hendersons," "St. Elsewhere") and Joey Fatone ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding," NSYNC). The film also stars Sam Stone, Henry Cavill, Debi Mazar ("Goodfellas"), Dan Roebuck, and Morgan Thompson in her feature film debut.
Special effects are supervised by Sandman Studios ("Antz," "Armageddon," "Face/Off," "Godzilla," "Independence Day," "Jimmy Neutron," "Shrek" and "Titanic"). Director of photography is Academy Award-winning David Stump ("Blade," "Garfield," "Mars Attacks!" "Stargate," "Storm of the Century," "X2," "X-Men") and costumes are designed by Academy Award-winning Tim Chappell ("The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert").
