Alert Logic Appoints IT Security Veteran Steve Kahan as President and CEO; Vendor of Hosted Network Threat Management Solutions Selects BindView Executive to Lead Company to Next Stage of Development

HOUSTON -- Alert Logic, Inc., the leading provider of affordable network surveillance and defense solutions, today announced the appointment of Steve Kahan as President and CEO. Kahan brings 20 years of management and security industry experience to Alert Logic. He has been a key executive with several successful start-up and early-stage technology vendors including BindView, e-Security, NetIQ, PentaSafe Security Technologies, and Postini. Kahan replaces founder and current CEO Misha Govshteyn, who will remain Chairman of the Board, and serve as Chief Technology Officer. Kahan also joins the company's Board.

Kahan joins Alert Logic from BindView (now Symantec), a global provider of IT security compliance software, where he was vice president of worldwide marketing responsible for the company's global marketing strategy, including brand management and development, field marketing, communications, go-to-market programs and corporate events. Prior to BindView, Kahan was vice president of marketing for Postini, where he helped establish the company as the dominant provider of email security managed services, doubling revenues within one year. Kahan also directed strategic marketing for leading security software firms NetIQ and PentaSafe Security Technologies.

He was founding president and CEO of e-Security, Inc., and helped create the software category known today as Security Information Management or SIM. In addition, as vice president of sales and marketing for TriMark Technologies, Kahan directed a strategic repositioning of the insurance software provider that resulted in TriMark's acquisition by PeopleSoft in 1999. He holds a B.S. degree from Illinois State University.
