Configuresoft CTO to Share Knowledge on Security Issues Created by IT Convergence at the AIT Comprehensive Information Security and Business Continuity Conference
Business Wire, Jan 24, 2006
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Dr. Moreau to Provide Best Strategies to Proactively and Continuously Address IT Convergence Security Issues
Configuresoft, an innovator in systems management technology and the creator of enterprise continuous compliance management, today announced that Dennis Moreau, Ph.D., CTO will be a featured presenter at AIT Global Inc.'s Comprehensive Information Security and Business Continuity Conference, on January 31 at Madison Square Garden, NYC. The conference will detail alternative solutions and best practices on information security's strategic impact on IT, business applications and convergence for the public and private sectors.
Dr. Moreau's presentation, "IT Convergence: Emergent Security Compliance Issues and Potential Solutions," will offer insight into the security issues posed by IT convergence. The audience will gain a better understanding of the limitations of existing technologies for managing security in the face of IT convergence, as well as a perspective on emerging security strategies and their potential to effectively address the issues raised by IT convergence.
"As infrastructural information frameworks converge, formerly disparate toolsets, disciplines and roles need to be aligned synergistically to address the new and more complex IT management reality. Threats will be more diverse and more broadly based. IT plumbing will carry increasingly higher concentrations of corporate interaction. Successfully and cost-effectively addressing dynamic threats and emergent risks in this new business environment will require more proactive, more continuous and more coordinated IT configuration control across the enterprise," said Dr. Moreau, CTO of Configuresoft. "Convergence brings with it increases in the numbers and kinds of interfaces, protocols, access control and policy mechanisms, all of which must be configured and managed consistently, despite the more intricate coupling across mission critical services to underlying IT infrastructure. Knowing definitively what you have and how that compares to what you actually need are key insights that will drive effective and efficient response to the challenge of convergence."
