Sunbelt Software Delivers One of the Most Comprehensive Antispyware SDKs; CounterSpy Gateway SDK Continues to Gain Momentum Among Leading Gateway Providers
Business Wire, Jan 25, 2006
CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Sunbelt Software, a leading provider of Windows security solutions, today announced that the CounterSpy Gateway SDK (software developer kit) continues to gain momentum as one of the industry's most comprehensive perimeter antispyware toolkits on the market.
The CounterSpy Gateway SDK is a powerful toolkit which enables OEM partners such as ISVs and network appliance manufacturers to integrate robust antispyware capability into their products and accelerate time-to-market cycles. Utilizing a large database of spyware signatures, the SDK can be integrated into software proxies or gateway appliances and provides full access to CounterSpy's threat detection engine, enabling OEMs to provide best-of-breed antispyware technology as part of a comprehensive Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution. The UTM security appliance market is rapidly growing to represent a US$2.4 billion market in 2009, according to research group IDC.
"Our OEM partners are successfully stopping spyware at the perimeter by integrating the CounterSpy Gateway SDK as part of their UTM solutions," said Carol Montgomery-Adams, vice president of channels and business development for Sunbelt Software. "Sunbelt recognizes that spyware integration at the perimeter is a key requirement for our partners that want to extend spyware protection to their customers. Our SDK, coupled with the strength of our robust threat definitions database, makes us one of the first antispyware vendors to successfully meet this need in the market."
"Sunbelt's CounterSpy Gateway SDK is a perfect complement to our XLi deep-packet scanning technology," said Brent Nixon, vice president product development for Cymphonix Corporation. "Our customers depend on us for the most up-to-date and comprehensive threat protection and Sunbelt as a PiNG Dynamic Update Alliance partner helps us exceed their expectations. With industry-leading threat recognition we're able to more accurately correlate network events and help our customers understand the impact those events have on their networks."
"With the advances that have been made by utilizing the CounterSpy Gateway SDK, Network Composer has made our lives much easier," said Kevin Allgaer of US Synthetic. "In the last 5 days, Network Composer blocked over 5500 spyware requests across my network of 500 users."
