Phonebites and Twentieth Century Fox Bring Family Guy and Napoleon Dynamite Sound Bites to Mobile Phones; Phonebites' RAZZ Headset™ to Include Popular Quotes From Two of the Year's Hottest Properties
Business Wire, Jan 3, 2006
SAN FRANCISCO -- Phonebites, a global publisher of entertainment software for mobile phones, and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising have announced a two-year licensing agreement for Family Guy and Napoleon Dynamite. Under terms of the agreement, Phonebites will design, manufacture and distribute its innovative RAZZ Headsets with the most popular quotes from both Napoleon Dynamite and Family Guy. Designed as a fully functional hands-free unit, the RAZZ Headset is a one-of-a-kind mobile phone accessory that comes preloaded with ten audio clips, which enable consumers to insert sound clips into their live conversations. The Napoleon Dynamite and Family Guy RAZZ Headsets will be available January 2006.
"We are very excited to be working with Twentieth Century Fox to deliver their top brands to the mobile audio entertainment market," said Jeff Malkin, Phonebites CEO. "The RAZZ(TM) platform provides a unique, new distribution channel for Hollywood content and we are delighted that Fox will be a flagship partner."
"The RAZZ is a one-of-a-kind experience in mobile entertainment," said Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President, Licensing. "We are very excited to work with Phonebites in delivering both Family Guy and Napoleon Dynamite to this interactive platform."
Industry pundits consider RAZZing to be the next hot category in the exploding mobile audio entertainment market. First came ringtones, then ringbacks, and now the RAZZ, which provides consumers the ability to express themselves in a completely unique way. Using the RAZZ, consumers can interject sound clips from Family Guy or Napoleon Dynamite directly into their phone conversations. Designed as an interactive audio publishing platform, the RAZZ allows content owners to deliver their branded assets to consumers in a whole new way, while providing a new business model to monetize those assets.

ABOUT FAMILY GUY
Heading up the eclectic Family Guy household is Peter Griffin, a big, boisterous, lovable oaf who isn't afraid to say what's on his freakin' mind -- usually the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time. He lives in Quahog, Rhode Island with his wife, Lois, and their three children -- Chris, Meg and Stewie, a brilliant, sadistic baby bent on destroying the world. And, don't forget Peter's well-spoken, cynical best friend, Brian, the family dog. Executive producer/creator Seth MacFarlane has the distinction of being the youngest person to be an executive producer. Family Guy debuted after the Superbowl in 1999, and in 2004, Family Guy made television history when Fox ordered the previously canceled show back into production due to its extraordinary fan support in both DVD sales and repeat broadcasts on Cartoon Network's 'Adult Swim'.
The talented voice cast includes: Seth MacFarlane (as Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin, Stewie Griffin and more), Alex Borstein (as Lois Griffin), Seth Green (as Chris Griffin), and Mila Kunis (as Meg Griffin).
ABOUT NAPOLEON DYNAMITE
Napoleon Dynamite is a new kind of hero, complete with a tight 'fro, sweet moon boots, and skills that can't be topped. Napoleon spends his days drawing mythical beasts, duking it out with his brother Kip and avoiding his scheming Uncle Rico. When two new friends enter Napoleon's life -- shy Deb and mustachioed Pedro -- the trio launches a campaign to elect Pedro for class president and make the student body's wildest dreams come true. But if Pedro is to beat stuck-up Summer, Napoleon will have to unleash his secret weapon.
A runaway comedy hit at the Sundance Film Festival and named Best Feature Film at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE marks the feature film debut of an original new voice, director Jared Hess, who himself grew up in Preston, Idaho and left his studies at Brigham Young University to make the film. NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is written by Jared and his wife, Jerusha Hess, and produced by Jeremy Coon, Chris Wyatt and Sean C. Covel. The comic cast includes Jon Heder, Jon Gries, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Diedrich Bader and Haylie Duff.
