Airpath's InterRoam Enables Access to SingTel Wi-Fi Venues; Addition of Hundreds of Singapore Hotspots Expands Roaming Footprint

Business Wire, Jan 3, 2006

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Airpath Wireless, Inc., the leader in enabling management and roaming for wireless broadband networks, today announced that its Airpath Provider Alliance has expanded to include the venues of Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel), Asia's leading communications group. This expansion will enable all providers who are part of the Airpath Provider Alliance to offer their customers broadband Wi-Fi access throughout SingTel's Singapore locations.

"By making available the Wi-Fi footprint of one of Asia-Pacific's largest networks, we are enabling our providers to offer better services to their customers as they travel the globe," said Olivia Hecht, marketing director for Airpath Wireless. "SingTel has more than 330 hotspots in Singapore, and now any of our allied providers can offer their customers seamless access to the Internet within these venues."

The Airpath Provider Alliance enables customers of Airpath providers to roam and utilize other networks, such as those run by SingTel. Providers benefit by being able to offer Wi-Fi services that span the globe without taking the costly approach of building their own networks or negotiating complex roaming agreements.

"SingTel already offers an extensive network of wireless hotspots. These can be found in locations ranging from cafe chains like Starbucks, Delifrance, Spinelli and fast food outlets like Burger King to public libraries, hotels, hospitals, shopping malls and even the Supreme Court. We intend to expand this network even further to enhance our Wi-Fi coverage across the country," said Boon-Chee Loo, SingTel's director of consumer marketing. "We are also pleased to extend the convenience of wireless Internet access to travelers to Singapore. Our agreement with Airpath enables their providers to help customers stay connected when roaming into Singapore and enhances network utilization for SingTel."

Travelers to Singapore who roam on SingTel's mobile network can dial *186 on their mobile phones to receive an SMS with the user ID and password to access its Wi-Fi service for the day.
