Sage Telecom Announces New Leadership

ALLEN, Texas -- Terry W. Lewis has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Sage Telecom, Inc., and Larry W. Carter has been elected Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Lewis, with over 25 years experience in the communications industry, has been acting president since he joined the company last July. Mr. Carter, a member of Sage's Board since the company started, stepped into the role vacated by founder, Dennis M. Houlihan, earlier this month.

Prior to joining Sage last June, Mr. Lewis was Group Senior Vice President - International Operations for Verizon Communications. He also served as President of GTE Telecommunications, Inc. ("TSI"), was Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for GTE Wireless, and held several senior positions in marketing, operations and finance for GTE Telephone Operations.

Larry Carter is currently President of Affiliated Telephone, a Texas Based company providing telecommunication systems to business and government entities. Mr. Carter currently serves on the Board Of Directors of Affiliated Telephone, Affinitas Corporation as well as Sage Telecom.
