Banta Corporation Deploys Netcordia's NetMRI to Manage and Analyze Its Distributed Network; NetMRI's Discovery Feature Helps Staff Cut Hours Out of Their Day
Business Wire, Jan 31, 2006
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Netcordia, a leading provider of network analysis tools, today announced Banta Corporation (NYSE:BN) has deployed NetMRI for analysis of its entire distributed network. Banta's advanced digital imaging solutions depend on their global network operating reliably, quickly and effectively. NetMRI assists Banta in identifying, preventing and solving network problems -- better serving their clients while saving time and money.
Prior to using NetMRI, Banta's IT staff found it difficult to view the health of the entire network; it took too much staff time to do it thoroughly. Now, using NetMRI, Banta can easily and proactively manage the network. NetMRI makes information available for optimal configurations and improvements, even in Banta's distributed and complex network. Banta's team is able to save resources by avoiding unneeded troubleshooting.
"Before purchasing NetMRI, we used an evaluation unit for one week. During that week we used it three times for different problems, and it found devices and configurations well outside our standards," said Derek Dolan, network engineer for Banta. "Now that we own a unit, it cuts a couple hours out of our day. The discovery feature is amazing, it's always finding new problems."
Banta Corporation is a technology and market leader in printing and supply-chain management. Banta provides a comprehensive combination of printing and digital imaging solutions to leading publishers and direct marketers, including advanced digital content management and e-business services. Banta's supply-chain management businesses provide a wide range of outsourcing capabilities to the world's largest technology companies.
"We are pleased to work with Banta's knowledgeable IT team," said Terry Slattery, CEO and founder for Netcordia. "NetMRI will help them to diagnose and fix problems on their network that will contribute to their maintaining their leadership in their industry."
The NetMRI appliance is a fully self-contained hardware and software system, already preloaded with the operating system, database, web server, custom analysis software and a rich DiagnosticBase of industry best practices. Installation typically takes less than 30 minutes. Every day it auto-discovers and auto-reports on any problems on the network.
