Storix Adds Backup and Disaster Recovery Support for HP Integrity and Intel Itanium Processor Systems
Business Wire, Jan 31, 2006
SAN DIEGO -- Storix, Inc. announced the first-ever full-system backup and disaster recovery support for Linux systems installed on HP Integrity series servers, which utilize Intel's Itanium IA-64 processor. The new support arrives in Storix' latest release of System Back Administrator (SBAdmin) version 5.3 released today.
For years, Storix SBA has been a leader in providing native full-system backup and disaster recovery capabilities for AIX and Linux systems. SBA provides centralized management of system level and data backup for one system, or the entire network. SBA options include 128/192/256-bit client-side encryption for the most secure transfer over networks and secure backups. Other feature options include data backup/restore support for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X systems.
"Until now, recovery from a Linux or hardware failure on Integrity or other Itanium-based system was to reinstall from the Linux distribution media. It could take days to get the system back to its previous configuration. With Storix SBAdmin, the entire system and all its customization can be restored in hours or even minutes," said Anthony Johnson, CEO and President of Storix, Inc.
Storix, Inc. understands the intricacies of real world disaster recovery scenarios and builds the most flexible full-system backup product on the market. Storix System Backup Administrator (SBA) excels in its unique abilities to accomplish remote or local, "bare-metal" restorations of Linux and AIX systems. Unlike a typical "disk image" restore, SBA allows you to completely recover an existing system in a single step, easily reconfigure for restoration onto a completely different hardware, or even provision new systems. These features significantly reduce both planned and unplanned downtime and the associated costs. Currently no other product is as complete and flexible.
