New York Times Job Market Enhances NYTimes.com/jobmarket Job Site; Indeed.com Job Search Allows Users to Search More Quality Job Listings Than Any Other New York Area Jobs Site
Business Wire, Jan 31, 2006
NEW YORK -- The New York Times Job Market announced it has begun offering visitors comprehensive job search powered by Indeed.com on its career site, NYTimes.com/jobmarket. The New York Times Job Market now complements thousands of its own search listings hosted by Adicio with those from other Web sites provided by Indeed.com, the leading search engine for jobs. Now job seekers can expand their searches across the Internet while ensuring Job Market advertisers that their listings will remain most prominent by being presented first.
The new job search is integrated into a private-labeled portion of the Job Market section of NYTimes.com, allowing NYTimes.com's average 11 million monthly visitors (Source: Nielsen/NetRatings, Dec. 2005) to take advantage of the expanded listings as well as extensive career-related coverage and job search tools. With this launch, NYTimes.com/jobmarket offers more listings in the New York market than any other job site, as well as an easy user experience.
"With this new feature, Job Market users are even better prepared to navigate the job market," explained Andy Wright, group director for advertising at The New York Times. "They benefit not only by accessing The Times's unmatched coverage of industry trends and career opportunities, but also by finding more relevant jobs on NYTimes.com. At any given time, Job Market boasts more than 14,000 of the highest-quality listings in The New York Times posted directly to NYTimes.com. Indeed lets us include even more quality listings from across the Web without adding lower quality jobs and spam that come from many job boards."
"We're delighted to expand candidates' job search capabilities on NYTimes.com, the world's leading newspaper Web site," said Paul Forster, CEO and co-founder of Indeed. "Now, with one simple search, Job Market visitors can search jobs from other job boards and thousands of newspapers, associations and company Web sites."
With this launch The New York Times Job Market now offers its users more employment opportunities than any other job board in New York. The site's new Job Market Mega Search toolbar functionality, including the Web search powered by Indeed.com, makes it simple to find great career opportunities from a wide variety of sources and partner sites, such as BostonWorks.com and DiversityInc.com.
These options give job seekers the most comprehensive set of opportunities and tools to help them in their job searches.
At Job Market, visitors can also:
--Use salary calculator tools to conduct cost of living comparisons and research salaries.
--Sign up for job alerts by industry e-mailed directly to their inboxes.
--Subscribe to RSS Jobs feeds, available on all job searches and industry pages.
--Get the inside scoop before applying to jobs, with extensive company research.
--View and pre-register for all upcoming career fairs and events sponsored by The New York Times, NYTimes.com and selected partners.
