Business Wire, Jan 4, 2006
WAYNE, N.J. -- Audible, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBL, www.audible.com), the Internet's leading provider of spoken audio entertainment, information, and educational programming, and Sonos, the developer of wireless multi-room music systems for the digital home, today announced a strategic partnership that will allow homeowners around the world to conveniently enjoy Audible's vast selection of digital content wirelessly throughout the home.
As of today, the popular Sonos(TM) Digital Music System is AudibleReady(R), further extending Audible's reach into the home, while expanding the Sonos entertainment experience beyond music. "Integrating the Audible service with home networking is a natural step for our company," said Foy Sperring, Senior Vice President, Audible Platforms at Audible, Inc. "We believe Sonos already has an incredibly innovative product. But making their platform AudibleReady, now exposes Sonos costumers to a world of on-demand audio information and entertainment in their very own home, making the product even more valuable than before."
"Sonos is focused on providing an unmatched listening experience for the digital home," said John MacFarlane, chief executive officer, Sonos. "The partnership with Audible provides Sonos customers with a vast selection of content that furthers the value of their Sonos experience."
