ICOA Launches Ad-Driven Content over Wi-Fi Trials Powered By OOH! TV; OOH! Mobile Launched to Monitor and Synthesize Entertainment Platform
Business Wire, Jan 5, 2006
WASHINGTON -- OOH! TV today announced an agreement with ICOA (OTCBB:ICOA), a leading national broadband wireless Internet network provider, to monitor the distribution of its entertainment network in ICOA-powered high traffic public Wi-Fi hotspot locations. The announcement was made as the online television network launched OOH! Mobile and began internal beta testing of the capability of the next generation TV platform.
"As Director of Business Development for ICOA and founder of Wise Technologies, Inc., I have been focused on the next generation of Wi-Fi. Now that Wise is part of the growing ICOA family, I am happy to launch OOH! TV." Said Gary Murray, President of OOH! TV, "The advertising market is clamoring for access to the mobile market and end users are increasingly demanding free access to content. ICOA's nationwide network of 1500 high traffic venues provides an excellent platform to satisfy both segments needs."
At ICOA locations participating in this trial, users will be able to access the OOH! TV network for free simply by clicking a button on the portal page. As part of the agreement, OOH! TV will also manage the landing page served to end users immediately following log-in. Both the landing page and free network will offer quick access to useful local and venue specific information.
"We are pleased to be working with OOH! TV in the development of this exciting new offering," said Rick Schiffman, CEO of ICOA, "The OOH! TV offering allows us to expand our testing of emerging technologies and provide compelling content to our customers. We also believe that rich content has the potential to generate ancillary revenue for our existing assets."
The OOH! Mobile trials at select locations are expected to start within the next few weeks and ICOA has already begun discussions with many of its location owners about an expanded rollout in 2006.
