Enlarge Your Sony PSP Games and Movies with GameDR ScreenMax, the 1st Solution for Playing PSP Media on TVs & Monitors; New PSP Accessory from Digital Innovations Transfers Small Images to Big Screen
Business Wire, Jan 5, 2006
LAS VEGAS -- For Sony PSP fans frustrated by the inability to connect their extra-small dream machines to larger viewing screens, Digital Innovations is set to release the GameDR Excelerator Series(TM) ScreenMax(TM) Video Transmission System for PSP(TM) (MSRP $69.99) --- the first product that makes it possible to play PSP games and movies on any TV or monitor.
Resembling an oversized computer mouse, the ScreenMax snaps into two holes on the PSP and covers the player's screen like a hat. The internal ScreenMax camera and lens system digitizes the PSP image, transmits it through a four-foot-long built-in cable that is attached to a TV or monitor on the other end, and reproduces the image in magnified form for a full-size gaming or viewing experience. A second cable that is also hard-wired into the ScreenMax unit plugs into the PSP's headphone jack and pumps the soundtrack through the TV or monitor speakers.
The result: a cure for the small-screen blues. PSP enthusiasts can now play their PSP version of "Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0" or watch their UMD copy of "Fight Club" without squinting. Friends who couldn't gather around the small screen to watch the PSP action can now hang out around the larger one. As a fringe benefit, PSP owners no longer need to purchase their favorite games or movies on multiple platforms because their PSP editions can do double duty.
The ScreenMax includes brightness and contrast controls, and operates on four AA batteries (not included). A DC power adapter can be purchased separately to run the device off electrical power.
The ScreenMax(TM) Video Transmission System for PSP(TM) will be available in February from major retailers including Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics, and other leading consumer electronic retailers, and at www.digitalinnovations.com. It expands Digital Innovations' line of GameDR accessories for the Sony PSP, which also includes a glare shield, a locking system and a variety of cartridge, lens and screen cleaners.
